You know how characters on tv are always too young to have the professional experience they're supposed to have? (With the flip side of everyone in high school being way too old--with the net result that everyone's in their twenties.)
Well, I just had that driven home to me. I'm watching NCIS:LA, and a character is reminiscing about how when she was fifteen she snuck out of the house to watch a movie. The movie? Titanic. I had a moment of wait--that's--that's younger than me. I know how far along in their careers my peers are, and that's not it.

Date: 2010-02-10 02:27 pm (UTC)I remember Titanic coming out, not because I liked it (I didn't--I didn't even see it until it had been out of the theaters for a year), but because it was a group obsession at my high school. You could walk through my dorm and hear either the Titanic soundtrack or Madonna's Ray of Light coming out of every room.
