I have discovered a new way to waste huge amounts of time. It's called fiddling with your lj layout. You too can spend an hour changing text colors!

See, I read everyone else's LJs through my Friends page, which means I never see their actual layouts. I figure everyone else does the same with me, so how my page looks doesn't really matter much. :)

Very true. But I wanted a layout that listed the tags along the side. I've had the default layout for three years, in the fanfic community that decidedly makes me look like a newbie.

Welcome to the madness. There is nearly infinite time wasting potential, and, then, when you really mess things up, it can take you hours to fix it again. : )

Yes, I've been writing down the hexadecimal codes for the default text colors "just in case." Someday I'll actually put up a webpage and waste even more time on layouts. (Sad thing is I have the whole thing created, just haven't gotten off my butt to find a domain name.)
