The great and ongoing social networking outage has finally driven me to dreamwidth. I miss everybody! I'm happy, at least, that there is one fannish social network not important enough to be the target of "geopolitical attack," as the news sources are saying. So I'm trying to reconstruct my flist from memory, and I'll be hanging out here for a while. I'm having a hard time finding comms, though. Are there many?

Communities, yes. Active communities, not so much. Mind you, I'm speaking from the POV of someone in 2 fandoms and with a handful of other communities I subscribe to, so there may well be some very active communities here in specific areas.

That said, I have noticed that certain general fandom communities here have some regular discussion (one on eBooks, one on RP writing, etc.). An interest search should turn up related communities here because there aren't so many that your search will be timed out. Another option is to subscribe to the Latest feed of recent post. You can also check out specific Latest tags, which I've noticed will throw up stuff that people aren't crossposting from their own blog.
