I just watched American Beauty on tv. I let it run through the opening credits just cause I wanted to hear the soundtrack (one of Newman's best), thinking, in a minute I'll turn it off and then I'll rent it sometime. But it was so mesmerising! Let me rephrase--Kevin Spacey was so mesmerising. So I watched the whole thing. But I'm betting they edited out some major stuff for tv, so I still have to rent it, don't I?

I presume they cut the couple of nude scenes; I'm not sure what else they'd cut, but it's a good enough movie to be worth renting and watching again.

That and the swearing. And I missed some of it cause I was puttering around. It's funny--I don't think I agree at all with the message of the movie, but I still enjoyed it and it felt uplifting at the end. I'll blame it on the magnetism of Kevin Spacey.
