No, lj! Not you too!

LJ, if you leave me, my life will have no meaning.

In case lj does go pffft, I am ivy03 over on insanejournal and greatjournal. Not that I remember my passwords anymore...

Well that sucks. I hope it doesn't go away. I've got to figure out how to archive all my entries. . . .

If you figure it out, tell me. I've never figured it out.

LJ Archive or LJ Book. I've done either or both at one time or another. Neither are ideal--nothing is preserved quite perfectly, pictures and all, but they may have improved. I'd change my password before giving it to them then change it back but they do work. If you can find LJ Book at the right time of day on the third day after the equinox when it's not overloaded with users...

With this news, I'm going to bet the servers are overloaded.

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely give those a try. I had figured I'd have to copy-and-paste each entry separately, or screencap them. Ugh.

1,579 entries for me. Um, no. Not copy pasting each individually.

LJ Book has definitely been overloaded with users. Have you actually used LJ Archive? The web service interested me more than installing something, but a free program interests me more than "donating" to LJ book to jump the queue.

And I doubt your donation would do it, honestly. If they put your donation to expanded bandwidth, you still would probably have to wait in line. And given that I've been trying, repeatedly, for a day now, to get one made, yeah, screw that.

I actually downloaded LJ Archive last night. It's decent. It preserves formatting more than LJ Book. I did use LJ Book way back when (though, of course, I can't find the PDF right now), and I seem to remember that it didn't save things like icons or pictures. That seems to have changed judging from the options they offer. However, it would require getting an LJ Book at all to figure out if that's true.

Given my lack of luck with LJ Book, I think I'll try LJ Archive before the gaming group arrives tonight.

I think it was TrinityVixen who found a way to do it--it's in my email somewhere, and I should do it, too. (If I find the email, I'll forward it to you.)

Me too please :) Though I have a habit of pasting serious entries into my private journal anyway...
