At least he reads WITH her? I'm grabbing at straws, but you know, at least he knows what craptastic books are all the rage.

Yeah, I know, it's really sweet that he still takes the time to read with his daughter, but Twilight is so god-awful and such an awful role model for young girls to have. I WANT OBAMA TO BURNINATE THESE BOOKS.

Well, it doesn't say he's *enjoying* it.

Just that he's being a good dad by keeping up on the pop culture his daughter's interested in.

Surely you're kidding. You wouldn't think it strange that his daughter is reading it, would you? Given that she's the target audience? I think it's excellent that he's sharing it with her. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that people shouldn't enjoy it!

But...they're such bad role models for girls!

The better for him to read them with her, so he can make sure she understands that...

BTW, check out this article on the Obamas' life in the White House, which states "...Barack wants to remove the plasma TV from the famous Lincoln bedroom. Instead, he wants guests to read."

Old skool. Though apparently he's ok with terrible choices in reading material. o_O

Uh... I hope he's previewing these before reading them with her, cause from what I've read the last book is not something I would read to a 10 year old.

I second this. I'm twice her age and I wouldn't want to read some of the crap that I've heard about. It's ickier than even I can stand.

Maybe they plan to have a serious discussion about the books' shortcomings?

It's been a long night, and I have a headache. I'm awake until it dies down enough to let me sleep.
