I'd just like to point out that the Make Me a Supermodel website has a link on the sidebar "For our Gay Fans" that says "Cheers, Queers!" And they have another link at the bottom to "the gay parts. And there are quite a few..." Next to it is a picture of Ben and Ronnie. AHAHAHAHAHA. Go Bravo for knowing which way your ratings lie.

I'd never seen the gay version of that Levi's add until Project Runway came back on the air. Even their advertising is gay!

As their sister network's website (Outzone) says, "This show is gayer than two men holding hands while they get their butts waxed. Oh wait, that actually happened."

Well, I'd hold hands with someone to get through that, too.

Did you see that vid that's basically the slashy moments from up to episode 7? And 8 and 9 alone would be enough material for another one. It consoled me after the loss of my favorite pretty, slightly dim, Zoolander-quoting 19 year old. Who, in the opinion of my professional dominatix friend, has totally been tied up before.

It was not Perry's week. Girlfriend's (allegedly) a ho, his roommates are gone, Ben smacked him in the junk for saying true stuff to the camera, Holly tries to make him eat food made of the same species as his pet. It's almost like instant karma.

I could not believe Ben grabbed his balls. That's not something guys generally do to each other, right? Or are my guy friends just too well socialized for that. And I love that they booked a hotel room with two queen beds for three guys. Anyway that worked out, that would have been Ben and Ronnie or Perry and Casey. Oh, the fic writes itself...

And Tyson with his "I don't want to hurt you, but here's something that's going to blow your game AHAHAHAHA sucker!" With the kicker: "Real men would be upset by these but you're a model and models do not feel emotions." Coming from Tyson, though? I kind of believe it. That guy is a strange pretty robot.

Poor Perry in a room by himself. Aw. He can't violate the sanctum of Ben and Ronnie's room.

I grew up among 'manly' men and spent a lot of time in English pubs, and never once have I seen a man grab another's balls, even in jest. The hell was that, Ben? Ronnie was sort of warming up to Perry, you don't need to start feeling the dude up!

Tyson is a pretty robot, it makes sense. It even explains the weird mispronuciations, like with the computer generated vocal programs.

Oh, the fic writes itself...
Normally this is where I say "write it!", but you're the Queen of Pain, and would totally make it about weird power differentials or a depressingly realistic hooker AU or something. Which is not to say I wouldn't read (and probably enjoy) it anyway.

God, you know, if I wrote this, you know it would entirely be about Ben destroying his marriage by having this affair, and how destructive that is to everyone, and selfish on his part, even if his wife wasn't his true love and how, even if he'd've divorced her in the end anyway, pursuing Ronnie in this incredibly public way while he was still attached ruined any chances of actually being with him and blah, blah, blah...

And you know? No interest in that. The reason why I look to fic for this show is so I can ignore that.

Plus I have a big bang story I'm ignoring writing right now.

See, the blah blah blah is why I have a difficult time reading the fic. Because Ben, for whatever faults he may have, doesn't strike me as actually being That Guy.
I'm more okay with Perry/Casey because I suspect Perry is That Guy (as, apparently, is his girlfriend) so it's easier to suspend disbelief. And Casey's so much more likely to put up with That Guy's bullshit than Ronnie, who has started snarking on Ben in his blog entries and talked about his relationship issues in interviews.

Is this the bigbang that's continuing Eugene's Wincest trauma at your writing group? It was mentioned briefly at the U23D outing.

*snerk* Yes, it traumatized to Eugene, but it's RPS not wincest. Let's just say...Eugene doesn't really get the romance genre (which is fine!). What was he saying about me...?

What I really want after watching MMAS is a novel where there's a reality show and this gay guy and this straight repressed prison guard become best friends and the gay guy has a crush and the straight guy's maybe a little too accepting of it... Basically the show without the wife. Cause I think you're right--Ben's not That Guy, and if he was, I wouldn't be a fan of his. Though the UST is fun, I'm still generally uncomfortable with it.

Ah, my mistake. It came up prior to the HUGE letters seemingly flying at us and making me dizzy, I'm slightly impressed I remember at all. Eugene wasn't with, but Dayle said it 'cause we were talking about accidentally (or not so) squicking people with fannish stuff.

Speaking of gay romance... I would read that novel. I love that there's a market for those now, terrible covers and all.

I've read one of the gay romance novels, written by and for men, though. Very different species.

See, the more I think about this premise, the more I think the presence of TV crews and Ben--erm, the straight prison guard--would be hesitant enough exploring his sexuality in front of a national audience and everyone he knows. Dramatically, you wouldn't need to add the barrier of him being married.

I've been thinking about this (see my comments on Lost in Translation) and the only way I can really deal with a character cheating on a boyfriend/girlfriend/fiancee/spouse is if it has been made absolutely clear that that relationship is doomed and both parties know it, and even then, I don't like it. That part of the movie Enchanted squicked me.
