BAM hates you
Feb. 15th, 2008 11:52 pmI just saw Patrick Stewart in Macbeth at BAM, which was fantastic. The seats, however, were the most uncomfortable I have ever sat in. They were hard as boards, the back was at a ninety degree angle, and if you have hips, the arm rests were strategically placed to dig into your side. If you're one of those people that doesn't quiiiite fit into a seat on the subway, these chairs were designed to torment you. Add to that that they were raised off the floor so that your legs dangled (even mine, and I'm five ten). They gave you a little foot rest to prop yourself up on, which made it fine...for about fifteen minutes. The play was three hours. It's like someone decided to design chairs so that the entire audience was on the edge of their seat, cause there was no other way to sit.
It was sort of like being on a crowded airplane flight with a really good in-flight movie and no snacks.
