iPod woes

So my iPod's being all funky. Yesterday it got thirty seconds into a song and then skipped to the next track. I started that song five seperate times, and each time, at the exact same spot, it skipped to the next track. This morning, I was listening to an album and it just skipped right over a couple of the tracks. If I look at the track listing, the songs are there, but if I try to play--skip.

What the hell? Anyone have any idea what's wrong with it and how to fix this? It is tres annoying.

That sounds like a problem with the transfer of the songs to the iPod. (Either the tracks are incomplete on your computer, or they're incomplete on your iPod. That's my guess, at least.) Delete the tracks from the iPod, check that the tracks play correctly on your computer, and reload them.

Have you accidentally set it to shuffle? That might explain the whole-song skipping around. As for the one song that won't play, I suspect there's a problem with that particular mp3. You might want to try re-encoding it, uploading it again, and seeing if the iPod plays it better.

Nope, not set on shuffle. I don't think I've ever set my iPod on shuffle. And the mp3s play fine on iTunes. I'll try reloading to the iPod and see what happens.

Then I agree with the post above--there's probably been a mistake or corruption in downloading the file to your iPod from iTunes. Delete it and try uploading again.
