I can has DVDs! My season 3 of SGA and season 2 of Supernatural came in the mail, so tonight I get to see if I can, in fact, rewatch two entire seasons of television and all the extras in a single evening. I also got "A Dog's Breakfast", aka, that David Hewlett movie with the entire SGA cast and crew. And I got Supertramp's Even in the Quietest Moments--I forgot how much I like that band.

Other things from the life of me:
-After a week long unsuccesful quest to find a place where Papa John's will deliver to me, I caved and ordered Domino's. In my building, I can't buzz people in and the speaker doesn't work, so when the delivery guy rang, I figured I'd just run downstairs to get the pizza. Slight problem. When I tried to open the door, the doorknob came off in my hand. This has happened a couple times before and I can fix it, it's just fiddly and takes precious precious time. Time in which the delivery guy is standing outside my building thinking about leaving with my food. So I'm frantically trying to screw the doorknob back on after unsuccesfully trying to get the doorknob to open when he rings my doorbell. Somebody must have let him into the building. I was looking at him through the peephole, knocking on my own door and yelling at him to just open it from his side. He must have thought I was crazy. But he did eventually open the door so I got the pizza and spent the next ten minutes putting the doorknob back together.

-I learned about the freakiest disease: Fatal Familial Insomnia. Basically, you lose the ability to sleep and then die of insomnia. Fortunately, it's an exceedingly rare dominant genetic trait (about 23 families in the world have it) so I'm probably safe.

-I caved and rented the BBC's Robin Hood. (This is your fault, [livejournal.com profile] trinityvixen). It is supremely cheesy--and not in a good way. Rack zooms and jump cuts just don't work for me in twelfth century England, thanks. The Sherrif is an extremely gay super villain and Guy of Gisborne looks just enough like Hugh Jackman that I'm constantly noticing that he's not Hugh Jackman. But Robin Hood and his servant are constantly declaring their undying love for each other, so clearly, this deserves further viewing.

Hey, you should try that Oreo Pizza from Domino's and let us know how it is.

Might I borrow Supernatural S2 at some point? I'm (finally) almost done with the S1 eps I recorded on my DVR two years ago...

You may, but I have to properly bask first. Ah...Supernatural.

Now go kick trinityvixen and make her watch.

Also, the Oreo Pizza sounds like it would make me ill.

Why not just order a real pizza? There are a dozen pizza places that will deliver to our neighborhood, including the one two blocks away from your apartment.

I am picky about pizza. I don't like New York style, so I usually don't like local pizza joints around here. The pizza I get most often, though, is Bertucci's.

Okay, then: What style of pizza do you particularly like? Is it deep-dish or sicilian, that sort of thing?

I can be all upset about you not liking "real" pizza, but then, I was raised in New York, so I'm biased. And it's not like bagels, where there's a clearly superior version. If you prefer something other than the standard, I'm sure we can find you a better version around here than (ugh) Dominos.

I like doughy crusts. I'm also picky about the flavoring of the tomato sauce--I like it a little sweet. A lot of tomato pastes are slightly sour. The cheese is a completely secondary consideration--when I was a kid I'd usually just pull it off. I don't know if that kind of pizza has a specific name--it's not deep dish or sicilian.

Well, I could teach you have to make a homemade pizza dough that comes out like that...

Yeah, that disease is freaky. Sorry I had to run off yesterday while you were telling me about it--I figured if I didn't split off then I'd wind up at the comic shop and wouldn't get back to work until an hour later.

Never tried the new Robin Hood, though one of my friends told me it was fun and got better and better as it went on.

Good luck with the pizza. We've got several good places near us, but they are admittedly New York pizza.

The doorknob thing still amuses me. :)

I love that you're not liking the Robin Hood series much but you're still watching it. It is totally my fault. It shouldn't be as entertaining as it is, but it is.

If I've rented something on DVD and don't have to worry about following it on TV, it's a fair bet I'll watch it whatever it ends up being like, especially if it's genre.

I just find it amusing that you stay for the slash (if I am interpreting this post correctly).

Robin Hood is totally cheesy, but there are some good parts. It's enjoyable enough if you're bored. But for me it has Richard Armitage (aka Guy of Gisborne) who I'm a little in love with. But to truly understand his hotness you must watch North & South (the BBC miniseries, not the one about the civil war with Patrick Swayze). He makes cravats look sexy. (Plus it's really good.)
