Jul. 17th, 2007 06:03 pmI don't normally do this, but right now I've been repeatedly thwarted in my attempts to get internet at home and having a cubicle right next to your boss's office does not lend itself to long fic-trawling searches.
So, f-list, any of you there have fanfic recommendations for Prison Break or Dark Angel? (Yes I've started watching Dark Angel just for Jensen Ackles--don't look at me like that!) Anything and everything welcome.

"Bad Case" - http://community.livejournal.com/pbficexchange/2118.html
T-Bag-centric, but told from Doctor Sara's POV
"Trick of the Light" - http://www.prisonbreakfic.net/viewstory.php?sid=641&textsize=0&chapter=1
Sara/Michael AU from season one. The author writes well enough, a rare thing in the fandom. I liked it, but it's not earthshatteringly brilliant. Check out some of her other stuff when you've seen more of the show. Oh, and there's porn. Het porn, though, so maybe not your thing.
"Head Lines & Heart Lines" - http://prisonbreakfic.net/viewstory.php?sid=2329
Sara-centric, pre-series. I really like Sara, and I like that her addiction isn't something that she's conquered and that she very consciously struggles with it. It's one of the few not-brushed-aside and not cliche presentations of a personal limitation on the show, so I like stories that examine how much self-loathing and, yet, strength she has as a once and forever addict.
"The Rage of Angels" - http://www.prisonbreakfic.net/viewstory.php?sid=2490&textsize=0&chapter=1
ABSOLUTELY ADDICTED TO THIS ONE. It's a pre-series look at the two brothers and their life and it's melodramatic and ridiculous in points and yet makes a lot of sense and can be really sweet and wonderful. It's the first fic in a while (and the only one in this fandom) where I've just had to not do things so I could read it (like work, sleep, life, you know). It's one of those kinds of fic. I loved it. Watch, you probably won't, but I corresponded with the author when I found her LJ (which would be here btw) and found that she was remarkably candid without being falsely modest or defensive about her strengths and limitations, and I just had a great time conversing with her about the story, the show, and the characterizations drawn from both. It's a rare thing in fandom to find such a good author (in terms of fan interaction), it really is. I think you'll appreciate that if nothing else.
