Today I was reading a Spenser novel by Robert Parker, published sometime in the seventies, and I came across this line:

"The kiss held, and developed into much more and relaxed in post-climactic languor without a sound."

I did not realize this meant they'd had sex until further down the page where they have to put their clothes back on. Silly me. I guess "post-climactic languor" should have tipped me off.

Utterly soundless sex (without some kind of very good reason) is creeeeeepy, in real life or fiction.

Hmm... for some reason I find that kind of hot.

Is this implying that they held the kiss all through the sex? Including the undressing? Because that would be impressive. Also, tiring.

The next sentence is in fact: "All without breaking the kiss." Later on it says that this whole event took a half an hour.
