They are finally, finally releasing season two of Twin Peaks. Six years after the release of season one. But why is season one now no longer available? There have to be more people like me out there who were waiting for the assurance of owning the whole thing before buying the first season. They have to reissue season one, right? Right???

No idea how accurate this is, but:

Although no release date has been announced, plans also call for Paramount to re-release the first season box set to include the pilot episode - with an all-new high def transfer - which was left off of the Artisan release due to rights issues. In any case, be sure to check out the entire interview with Lynch over at Amazon Wire. (from http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf/showthread.php?t=102057&page=10)

I'll have to upgrade from my VHS boxset one of these days too.

Yay for Twin Peaks on dvd. I need to get that. I have the first season already (I figured more people buy it the faster the next one was likely to come out... didn't work so well). I would try looking on Ebay for the first season set if you can't find it anywhere else.

Oooh I hope they're putting at out, I have a copy of the pilot on a VHS tape somewhere... but I have no idea where it actually is. o_O

From what I understand, the reason for not releasing season 2 earlier was because season 1 sales were not as good as they'd hoped (the reason for THAT being that people wanted to WAIT until season 2 came out, so they could just buy both).

Now the idea is to wait a little longer and release a special edition box set of both season with lots of special features. This is why SEASON TWO has no commentaries or special features.

Point of Trivia. In issues of X-FACTOR, Peter David pretty much said that Marvel comic character Valerie Cooper had a brother named "Dale" who worked for the FBI. :-) ooooooh.

Well, I'll just be patient a little bit longer then. And that would be cooler if I had any idea who Valerie Cooper was.

My copy is actually in my apartment, one of the few I held out from storage.

I've got the whole series on my computer, but it's very low res and subtitled in Danish, which gets distracting after a while. I was looking for to DVD quality. And maybe a documentary explaining what the hell is going on in that show.
