This is being linked all over the place, but I'd like to point people to witchqueen's fantastic post of last year on advice to white people in fandom. Think of it as like minotaur's advice to women on how to write gay sex, except for white people writing characters of color. It also has solid advice on how to deal with an accusation of racism without digging the hole deeper.
