Almost all of the worst storms I can remember in this area have been in late Feb-March. Including the Blizzard of '96, which involved school being cancelled for almost a week halfway through March.
My neighborhood got over 3 feet of snow. We weren't allowed to drive for two days. It took me about half an hour to walk five or six blocks. You couldn't walk, the snowplows couldn't keep up, there were drifts almost as high as my head in a couple places.
