Mar. 27th, 2012 05:22 pmFor anybody following the Mike Daisey story, Daisey used as part of his defence that what he does is theater, and theater has a different standard of truth than journalism. While that is true, it's also deceptive as an argument.
This is an absolutely fantastic panel discussion by people who create and review documentary theater about the role of truth in theater. There are a lot of varied and very well articulated points of view (and a bit of shouting over each other). The sound quality's kind of crap at the beginning, but it's worth a listen.
