For some completely unknown reason, I am not getting my copy of HP7 from amazon until August. You know what this means, f-list? DO NOT TALK TO ME ABOUT HARRY POTTER. I'm serious. I recognize the near impossibility of remaining unspoiled and I accept this but I'm warning you now that I probably won't finish it until September some time.

ETA: I feel the need to add I'm getting it on tape. I have not actually read a single Harry Potter book. Some of Rowling's written-out dialogue eccentricities bother me. And Jim Dale kicks ass. I listen to all of them on tape. Which means it takes me longer anyway.

OMG!!! INTERNET!!!!!!!

Yes, the cable company has finally come and I have internet. Of course, when I called to confirm, the automated service told me the cable guy would be here between 5 and 7 which was a blatant lie since he got here at 4. Good thing I didn't believe him.

The cable did almost manage to fuck up my computer, though. After he loaded the driver software, as it was chugging along, he tried to get it to reboot and then he kept CLICKING THINGS and I told him just to wait and then he HARD REBOOTED the thing and argh! Yes, congratulations. Instead of waiting a minute for it to reboot, we now have to wait ten for it to check to see if any of the files are cocked up. Fortunately, everything appears to be OK.

And lj celebrated by being down when I first checked right after the cable guy left, which led to a panicked moment of thinking that I hadn't been connected properly, but no. It was just lj.

Now all I need to do is go through two weeks of lj posts. That'll be...skip 400? Yeesh. I guess I'll see everyone sometime next week...
