Apr. 11th, 2006 11:30 pm*hem* On further reflection rewatching King Arthur (shaddup! shaddup! I finished all my Uncle John's, I don't have any book reviews, I'm allowed. Besides, if you only watch the bits with dialogue, the movie is twenty minutes long), it's sort of making me hate Clive Owen. Normally I love Clive, but in this case Ioan is playing all this great subtext, giving the story this added dramatic layer of being about a friendship falling apart, and Clive's not responding to it at all. Either Clive's doing a poor job, or Arthur's an oblivious idiot.
I can't blame the writers for this failure of a film. It seems like they were trying to have some dramatic tension going on here, then the producer or director said more chopping, less talking! and so much for that.
