I tried to watch Cats last night. After a half an hour I had to turn it off. Clearly I'll have to get through this in small doses. And if I hear the word "Jellicle" again I will throw something at the screen.

It's worse because I can tell the poems are good, they're just being murdered by Sir Webber.

On the plus side, my boss made home-made ice cream and brought in. Since we have no freezer, we have to it all of it right now. And since one of the assistants made apple crisp, I'm having apple crisp a la mode at 10 in the morning. How decadent.

I had to send a fax to New Zealand and the busy tone as the fax machine dialed sounded exactly like the end of the song "Young Lust" on Pink Floyd's The Wall.

It's a good thing at least one person in the office got the reference when I started saying, "Hello, Charlie?" in a British accent.

ETA: OK, in order to be completely accurate, the sound of the dial tone is at the end of the song "Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2" and "Young Lust," where it is accompanied by an operator saying "This is the United States calling." "Is that Charlie? Hello, Charlie," is at the end of the song "High Hopes" on The Division Bell. You know you've listened to too much Pink Floyd when you can remember what all the background sounds are. Maybe I should do a quiz. But I doubt anyone but me would be able to answer it.
