I tried to watch Cats last night. After a half an hour I had to turn it off. Clearly I'll have to get through this in small doses. And if I hear the word "Jellicle" again I will throw something at the screen.

It's worse because I can tell the poems are good, they're just being murdered by Sir Webber.

On the plus side, my boss made home-made ice cream and brought in. Since we have no freezer, we have to it all of it right now. And since one of the assistants made apple crisp, I'm having apple crisp a la mode at 10 in the morning. How decadent.

It always makes me think of "follicle," "corpuscle" or "crepuscular."

And "corpuscle" reminds me of that SNL skit where that's the "smart" word Will Ferrell throws out to hide the fact he's lost the cards for the Spelling Bee.

"Your word is...'corpuscle.'"
"Hmm, corpuscle. Could you use that in a sentence, please?"
" 'Hey, look at that corpuscle.' "

I don't think you can watch and enjoy Cats if you are (mentally) past the age of nine. It's amazing if you're younger than that, however.

I'll have to second that. I thought it was the best thing ever in fifth grade.

I think it's also not bad if you're the parent of a small child - my parents hated it the first time they saw it, but rather enjoyed it when they took us.

Probably the nostalgia factor makes me want to defend that, then. 'Cause I totally see where you're getting that.

Still, Cats wasn't that bad. When they added that song about dogs for no reason at all, now that was bad.
