Nov. 16th, 2005 09:48 amI now have complete faith that everything I ever watched on TV will eventually be released on DVD. Brisco County Jr? Sure. Darkwing Duck? Youbetcha. Power Rangers? Why not. Why do I have this faith?
I saw not one but two He-Man DVD collections at Borders on Monday. You can see them here and here. I am amazed that they not only released this on DVD, given that it is cheap crap and the only market is nostalgic gen-Xers, but that it costs just as much as any other DVD and they were actually carrying it in a major book chain - and not in the kids section either.
This is amazing to me. Coming from a time when finding copies of your show was a constant struggle, involving obsessive taping, trawling e-bay and begging other fen for copies, now all you need to watch anything you want is forty bucks. Amazing. This must be how it felt when they first invented VCRs. This is the golden age for fen.
