Apr. 23rd, 2004 11:50 pm1. What type of fannish interaction do you prefer: conventions, smaller in-person gatherings, mailing lists, newsgroups, blogs/journals, IRC?
I'd have to say face to face, but the chances of me bumping into people with Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers' fixations (and Jason fans at that) are so slim that I tend to blogs and mailing lists.
2. Are you always upset when your show gets canceled or have you ever been (not so) secretly relieved?
Usually not because usually it's jumped the shark by then. Case in point - X-Files. However, there are some cancelations recently that annoy me, like, say, Angel. Basically my frustration is directly proportional to the amount of series continuity that is resolved in the finale. ST:TNG has I think the best final episode I've seen, so even though it was still going strong, I don't mind. Pretender had such a crappy closer I was depressed for a week. My God, the man's been searching for his mother for four years, he needs a hug. And does he get it? Noooo.... (am stopping before full-fledged rant kicks in)
3. Do you find icons an integral part of lj'ing or would you be just as happy with one icon as with fifty?
I like other people's, don't really work on mine. Between no real photo shop and paralysing fear of accidentally plagiarising, I'll stick with the ones I have.
4. Do you prefer to read fanfic in zines or online?
Online. Because I can do it at work and it looks like I'm working. (Oh, wait, maybe I shouldn't have said that...)
5. Do you consider yourself FIAWOL* (fandom is a way of life) or FIJAGDH* (fandom is just a goddamn hobby)?
Let's see... I'm trying to make a career out of editing media tie-in novels. I'd say FIAWOL.
Ha! I have four minutes left till it's saturday!
