By the way - does anyone know of a website that translates cyrillic into phonetics? Babelfish does admirable translations - into cyrillic, damn them.

I can transliterate Cyrillic to phonetics. Barring that, I'm sure you can find pronunciation guides online.

Not in the United States, but it was great to have in Israel. Lots of Russian signs, and enough words are cognates to get some idea of what's on the signs.
