No, I'm not avoiding writing an article that's due tomorrow - what on earth would make you think that?

A sure sign that I have been fully inculcated into another fandom: a had a Horatio Hornblower dream last night. It involved swinging on ropes in a very swashbuckling manner. Unfortunately, it was so vertiginous that it woke me up and I couldn't go back to sleep for quite some time because every time I closed my eyes I felt a great distance yawning beneath me. Damn that persistent fear of heights. (At least I have that in common with dear Horatio.)

I even know how to pronounce Ioan's name now. Does that make me a true fan? *needs Hornblower icon*

Ooh, if you're making icons, I'd love one.

Lisa watched "The Duel" this weekend, and she was like "I thought Jamie Bamber was gonna be in it more from the way you two talked about it." I was very good and said nothing committed, just "Well, uh, he was set adrift at sea, you know..."

So, shhhhhh, secret! Also, did you finish the series already?

What, did she not notice that he's on the cover of some of the later DVDs? Yes, I finished, and no, you can't have them back yet. I have an urge to rewatch "The Duel" now. And I actually liked "Loyalty" and "Duty" because he was fucking up his life in interesting ways without his precious Archie. *hem*

Goes to read fix-it fic. *sniff*

Pass off any good fics to me. Preferably ones that are in total denial about him taking leave of his senses and marrying that woman.

Yes, end of six, very sad. End of seven/eight, meh. It really loses its emotional impact when we lose Archie.

No, Lisa hasn't even looked at the set, I suspect. She just takes them out as she goes along, I suspect.

Weird - I had two different dreams last night that involved dizziness and heights and I had trouble going back to sleep afterwards.

Mithras! Long time no anything! You need to get an lj so I can be sure that you actually get my replies.

Yes, I have now become indoctrinated into Highlander, Stargate and Hornblower, all of which you recommended to me. I think I owe you a phone call.
