We've replaced SG1's script with one of SciFi's direct-to-video monster movies. Let's see if they can tell the difference. Seriously - all they did was a find and replace for the names - otherwise this could have been "Rottweiler" or "Swarm" or even "Boa vs. Python" (though, thank the lord, not quite that level of suckage) for all the attention they paid to the plot.
Note how the bugs inexplicably eat all of some soldiers (including uniform, radio and P90) but leave others untouched! Note how they don't even try to eat anything else on the planet! Note how they burrough underground and thus don't require the use of special effects shots for most of the episode!
And they think they can redeem this with a Starship Troopers reference? Feh. I have been this disappointed since "Bain."
On the other hand, Atlantis kicked ass. I don't even need to get into spoilers - it doesn't need to be analyzed to death. Just - ass. Kicked. That is all.
