Take that, Patriot Act!

Check it out. It's a little metal card with the Bill of Rights on it, with the fourth amendment (the one about illegal search and seizure) highlighted in red. It's designed to set off metal detectors, so that the next time you go to the airport, carrying this, you're forced to hand over your rights.

Not something I would ever do, but poignant nonetheless.

Cute, but silly. No one seriously believes that metal detectors at airports are a violation of 4th amendment rights. It's something like the special needs exception--government is allowed to search without a warrant in very limited, specialized cases where the intent is to prevent harm rather than criminal prosecution, and can be done in a minimally invasive way.

In case that wasn't obvious, that was me. Stupid LJ, logging me out for no apparent reason...

I don't think it's a violation of constitutional rights. It's just funny.
