For the no one on my lj who is following Traitors...
Wow what a boring season. I found Danielle and Carolyn both intensely unwatchable--once Bob the Drag Queen was out, it was kind of a slog. The Traitors were so disorganized and chaotic, I couldn't root for any of them. Just when I warmed to Boston Rob, he was out. Which means that the winners were the biggest patsies of the group? Like--they made it to the end because traitors were shielding them, then the traitors all took each other out. When they got to the final fire and there were only seven minutes left in the show I was like, well then. Guess this will be boring. And it was.

Date: 2025-03-12 04:49 am (UTC)I was really put off by it at first-- until I realized "Oh, it's Werewolf," and proceeded to enjoy it much more.
I wish we'd gotten a season that didn't have Boston Rob in it. He was a blunderbuss in that group, and the vibes never, ever recovered.
It took like a week too long for the Faithfuls to a) start suspecting Boston Rob, and then b) boot his ass. When Tom Fucking Sandoval named Boston Rob, I was like, "This is Jason figuring out they're in the bad place before anyone else.
There could've been a fun season in there, but nope, y'all wanted a twist. 9_9

Date: 2025-03-14 04:06 pm (UTC)Although Bob the Drag Queen went home early, I at least appreciated that he was sniped by a fellow traitor, and it wasn't the same "we use vibes to find a liar and a black drag performer has bad vibes" thing that happened with Peppermint.
Season 1 US was half reality stars half normal people. It's a good season, but that gives it a kind of wonky vibe. The UK show is a lot less camp and a lot more earnest. No one is an existing reality star, and Claudia Winkelman has a "you've disappointed me" vibe rather than Alan Cumming's...everything. That said, both seasons are VERY good.
Boston Rob finally won me over in the ep he was eliminated--he was so good at talking Ciara through a challenge. I was like--this guy should be an EMT. He's really comforting to someone in distress. Too bad he fucked up the game completely.
