I still read EW, and I just have to share this stunning quote from an interview with Jared Padalecki about his new show, Walker:
"It's not called Walker, Texas Ranger, largely because this is not a show about a Texas Ranger who has a family. This is a show about a family man who goes to work as a Texas Ranger."

...

I believe we call that a distinction without a difference.

To me it sounds like he's saying that the focus of the show is on the character's relationship with his family rather than on his career.
