PBS Eons

PBS Digital Studios has a number of channels with educational videos. PBS Eons is about deep history—usually looking at geologic periods and what we know about different branches in evolution. I find it very soothing to watch before going to bed. This one is on why things keep evolving into crabs.

I watch this one before bed too! It's interesting enough to get me out of my head and the events of the day, without being so brain-intensive that it keeps me awake.

I find the contemplation of deep time calming when trying to disengage from the day's worries. And I'm always interested by the chain of inferences scientists have made to get to the amazing chronology we have about the past.
