ivyficMonday 7:14AM: We heard the heating cut out again. [editor's note: it went out Thanksgiving weekend.] I called for PSE&G service today between 12 and 4pm. I hope this will be fixed for good today.
Monday 5:07PM: PSE&G fumbled our service appointment. They will bet here tomorrow morning between 8am and noon. I am very sorry about the inconvenience.
Tuesday 3:27PM: Instead of fixing our heating issue, PSE&G have made it worse. We have hired a private plumber to help - hoping to get provisional heat tonight.
A few minutes later: Compromise for tonight: furnace is on, but we had to turn off hot water overnight. We'll keep you posted.
A few minutes later: It's an issue with ventilation fan control. Can operate one or the other but not both currently, pending part. Will confirm re hot water.
A few minutes later: I am being told we have no choice between heat and hot water. Water boilers don't activate vent fan so can't be turned on until controller is fixed.
It's 68 degrees in my apartment now (as opposed to the 63 it's been since Friday) and we have hot water so...win?
