Dear Yuletide writer—
Thank you for writing a story for me! In general, I love angst, and stories focused on characters. I love reading about people negotiating their relationship with each other. It's a thing. My do not wants are rape/noncom, character death, torture, graphic violence, extended medical descriptions, bloodplay, etc. I hope I've given you enough detail below to get your bunnies started.
Brick (2005 movie)
What I love about this movie is the sense of history between the characters. So I'd love something that explored that. Particularly if it gave backstory to Brendan's relationship with Emily, or his friendship with Brain. There are lovely little hints that Brendan may not have always been the hero (like any good noir film), so plenty of ground to explore.
Lie to Me
Cal Lightman has a fantastically dark and mysterious past that was never fully explored on the show. I've never understood why this show wasn't catnip to fandom. Especially with the push-pull antagonism between Cal and Ben Reynolds. So I'd love anything that explored Cal's background, or slash or gen between Cal and Ben, or, alternatively, anything with one of my favorite father/daughter pairs on TV.
Brother Cadfael
There's something about Hugh Beringar that just screams woobie to me. I'd love some old school gen hurt/comfort with Hugh. (Sorry—my slash goggles do not work on Derek Jacobi.) Especially if it's something that shows Hugh's competence. In later seasons of the show, Hugh can be a bit jam Watson, so I'd love anything with him being clever. (And whomped.)
