Did anyone else get the feeling that that episode was missing a couple of scenes? I mean, it just didn't make all that much sense.
- Why, exactly, has Scott not told Alison that her mom tried to kill him? I mean, I know this show regularly depends on people not sharing information, but COME ON.
- Lydia's plot made no freaking sense. I feel like we were missing a couple of expository scenes. What was the purpose of giving everyone hallucinatory punch? Was that part of whatever worm moon spell? Or was that just for distraction? If the latter...that does not seem like the best plan. If the former...how? And what the hell was the purple dust stuff she blew at Derek? Where did that come from? Since when does she (or Peter Hale) know where Derek's secret lair is?
- How come people got instantaneously sober from this hallucinogen thing? Like, we see Scott hallucinating, and very next scene, he's sober. We see Alison hallucinating, very next scene, she's sober and at the hospital. Apparently this show believes that splashing water in someone's face makes them sober. But if that's supposed to be the case, how come the people who jumped in the pool didn't instantly become sober?
- Given that EVERYONE IS HALLUCINATING, are we supposed to believe the reveal about Matt controlling the kanima? I mean, I think we are cause the previews said we are, and it didn't have that heart-beaty visual effect, I'm just saying, while your whole cast is hallucinating is maybe not the best time for an important reveal.
That being said, I loved a lot about this episode. I loved that Alison's kick-ass doppelganger appears to her and yells at her for not kicking ass this season. I love that Jackson's fear is that he has no identity because he doesn't know his parents. I love that if they'd JUST BEEN TALKING TO LYDIA THIS WHOLE TIME, they would have solved the kanima problem, cause all she needs to do is touch Jackson and it brings him out of it.
I love Stiles and his dad. LOVE. It seems like the hallucination thing was for the express purpose of making him a woobie. His secret (and not so unrealistic) fear that he's ruining his father's life! And why exactly has he not told his dad what's going on yet? He was going to do that three episodes ago and now appears to have forgotten about that.
And I love Derek in this episode. Of COURSE he's going to lose his alpha status. He's the least alpha alpha in the world.
Scott: Why don't you tell me everything?
Derek: CAUSE.
Isaac: If Scott's part of the pack, why isn't he here?
Derek: He's doing...stuff...
I mean, Isaac's more alpha in this ep than Derek. I love Derek's distress call to Scott. Oh, Derek. You are the worst leader in the world. (No, I take that back, Captain Jack still wins.) You are an emotionally scarred 23 year old whose been on his own for almost a decade and has no idea how to run anything. Of COURSE this is going horribly awry.
Can I also say, I am 100% certain that Derek did not bite Ma Hale. Up until the moment her eyes flashed, I expected that whole thing to be a self-inflicted ruse. I mean, she did kill herself, but she is nuts. I'm just not quite sure where they're going with all this.
