sigh...

I am overcome with sadness. The sadness that only happens when you have reached the end of a story you love. I thought my Star Wars fannishness was dead. But now I see that was a vicious, vicious lie. It's the same feeling I got when I finished reading Lord of the Rings, or Three Musketeers, or Don Quixote. The despair of knowing that though you can revisit it, you will never again encounter it for the first time.

sigh...

I think when Harry Potter VII comes out I'm going to need some serious solace. I can already tell that will hit me hard.

I felt that way at the end of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. I dragged that bad boy out for like half a year because I couldn't bear the thought of it ending. :-/

"Goodbye, Jean-Luc; I'm going to miss you," muses Q. "You had such potential. But then again, all good things must come to an end."

But there will always be new fandoms. And the old ones will continue to reappear as digital media that we can watch until we're old and blind.

At least you have many, many years before Harry Potter VII, the movie, comes out :)
