Yeah, I didn't see that one very early, but it is one of the best. It was a different episode where I saw the "House actually can't save everyone" theme play out, which made the show feel much more natural (not telling you which because that would spoil it!)

Oh, and part of the artificiality in the early episodes comes from the lack of continuous story. As they progress, and you start seeing how the characters' relationships progress from case to case, it gets a lot better.
