I hope you’ll have fun with my (um, offbeat) requests this year. In general, I like character pieces, stuff that really gets into the psychology and the drama. I love stories that deal realistically with consequences. I love angst, and am not afraid of it being a little dark. No character death, no graphic rape, and please no shmoop or smarm. Also, please no second person, and no present tense. That drives me bonkers.
Without further ado, my requests:
SeaQuest DSV
Ford/Krieg
SeaQuest is one of my first loves, and for such a small fandom to begin with, I have a completely unusual OTP. I love Ford and Krieg together. You have by-the-book Ford, and play-by-his-own-rules Krieg, a classic slash formula. If you look at “Nothing But the Truth,” you see how Ford’s initial intense dislike of Krieg is reluctantly turning to respect. So I’d love anything that deals with those sparks, especially if it shows Krieg as not just a shallow opportunist. I’d especially love it if you could work in reference to the fact that Krieg was friends with Bridger’s dead son (yes, I’m ignoring the 2032 continuity).
Traders
D’Arby/Jansky
In the early days of the show, Jack Larkin and Donald D’Arby became Grant’s de facto protectors. But where Jack just gave Grant whatever would make him happy in the moment, Donald actually looked out for what was best for Grant, even if it upset him. When Jack died, Donald was really Grant’s only support system. Then he left the show. And Grant...disintegrated. So I want something that deals with Grant being abandoned, especially if Donald comes back and sees what has happened to him. I don’t mind a little dubious consent, given Grant’s mental issues, but I’m fine with gen as well, as long as it focuses on Donald’s relationship with Grant.
Tin Man
Glitch/Cain
Let’s face it, Glitch and Cain are adorable together. But Glitch’s half-a-brain would make any sort of relationship a problem. I’d love something where Glitch gets his brain back (maybe so he can be with Cain), but getting it back changes him. And maybe he’s not the person any of them cared about anymore. I’d love slash, but gen is okay. I just want to explore what Glitch getting fixed would do to his relationship with Cain.
Jeeves and Wooster
Bertie and Jeeves have such a complicated master/servant relationship. I mean, Jeeves seems to go to great lengths to make things as uncomfortable for Bertie as possible--to save him, of course, but I’m sure it’s not entirely necessary to put Bertie through the humiliation first. And yet it’s clear that Jeeves has a great deal of affection for Bertie and is looking out for him. Jeeves is so prim and proper, but has such a twisted side, too. In the TV series, with Stephen Fry playing him, he had a broken nose. So I’d love to see Jeeves, maybe in the past, not being able to solve things so elegantly and having to get a little rough. How did he get that broken nose? Would he do the same for Bertie now if he had to? Gen is fine, but Jeeves/Wooster is always a bonus.
Hmm...in writing this up, I seem to have noticed a, um, theme in my requests. *hem* Well, I hope you find something interesting to work with, and good luck!
