ivyficI don't read a whole lot of fannish meta, but this is a very interesting post about transactional friendships as they apply to pay-for-access conventions written by a former dominatrix, who has a certain perspective on interacting with people who pay for your company.
Most of you know I don't like to interact with celebrities, and in particular in this sort of a setting, but this post articulates very clearly what the cause of my unease is, as well as the benefits for both the celebrity and the fan when handled correctly.
