My roommate has posed a classic dilemma for me. She burnt popcorn in the microwave oh, five hours ago and the apartment still smells like smoke. So the dilemma. Do I open the windows in my room to reduce the smell? Keep in mind that it's snowing out. Smell? Warmth? Guh.

Yes! Snow is white and fluffy and fun. Not something to be afraid of :)

And cold! And deadly to my houseplants.

Crack the windows, turn on any vent fans you have (even if they're in different rooms) and febreeze/oust/glade plug-in as necessary.

Febreeze solves everything. It's amazing.

It's late for this now, hopefully, but there's always the attempt to cover the smell. Scented candles, incense, or just putting a pot with water and cinnamon on the stove to simmer. (Note - _watch_the_pot_. Nothing worse then letting the water all boil out and having the cinnamon catch fire and carbonize to the bottom. The names of the people responsible for this have been withheld to protect the guilty.)

My roommate was going to try the scented candles, but it's a good thing she didn't. I'm allergic to them. (See post about hand lotion). I think I'm buying febreze on the way home and trying that. Strong smells and I don't get along.
