For anyone who's read Twilight, or heard about it, or is wondering why everyone's so obsessed with it, you have to see this interview.

My favorite is where he calls Stephenie Meyer mad, and all her fans sick voyeurs of her sexual fantasies. Yeah, boy, you're going to be running from those fans for the rest of your life, and I think you've only just begun to realize it.

He calls them Mary Sues, says he doesn't know why anyone likes them, practically begs to be fired... Oh, you can see the fear and desperation of the burgeoning teen heart throb. It's like he's just realizing that he's playing Stephenie Meyer's sexual fantasy and he's...deeply uncomfortable with that.

And dude, he was in a Harry Potter movie. Didn't he learn?

LOL Yeah he really should have known better. Though really, I think the people involved with making the movie clearly had little clue as to just how insane all this was going to get. And yeah, he's totes begging to be fired. You know he's thinking "Oh god, I'll never be a serious actor now." (Don't worry dude, Leonardo DiCaprio managed it after Titanic... though that wasn't a series.)

I have to admire the fact that he's not shy about going "This is totally crap. The woman who wrote this needed not to have ever published it." I might actually really like this actor. That's the smartest read on it given baldly to the press of any that I've read/seen.

I don't know anything about this guy, but on the basis of this one interview I really respect him.

Harry Potter was nowhere near this bad. I mean, sure, there's a whole lot of Mary Sue elements there, but it's mostly lacking the incredibly creepy voyaristic sex obsession thing.

BAHAHAHAHAHA OH RPATZ! Thank you for posting that -- I've been hearing about it. Oh god, the poor guy.

AHAHAHA. He's awesome. That interviewer is like, uhh....hahahaha. At least in Harry Potter, none of the characters are JK Rowling's sexual fantasy (that we know of - I mean, THAT would be weird and kinda creepy.) I love that he's like, "get me out! get me out NOW!" Poor guy...

And somewhere a publicist is crying.

Also, gotta love the interviewer. "So the book is very real. I mean, it has vampires, but it's very much based on reality." o.O I'm going to take a wild guess and say he hasn't read it and someone told him to say that.

I KNOW. I'd probably feel differently if I liked the book, but he is 100% right. It's crap and Stephenie Meyer is crazycakes.

Yeah. It must be incredibly disturbing to realize you've been cast as someone's sexual fantasy/fictional creation that they've fallen in love with.

(The actor's publicist? Oh yeah.)

The interviewer doesn't fit the demographics targeted by this series, so I don't think it's likely he has read the books. He's got his talking points, just like any interviewer.
