Oh My God. To inagurate my new computer's hard drive, I'm ripping my CD collection onto it. So I'm digging down to albums I haven't listened to for ten years. And I unearthed Amy Grant. Dear God. "Baby, Baby" was my absolute favorite song when I was six. Now I listen to it and this is the cheesiest crap I've ever heard. How many key changes does one song need? But still somehow.....I like it. Grudgingly. Against my will. But I like it. Because this is the sound of my childhood.

Thankfully this nostalgic sentimentality does not extend to New Kids on the Block. Nothing could make me listen to that again.

you were into new kids on the block?! oh my goodness. did you know that v was like a president of her local new kids fan club? you two should talk. and btw, not surprising that npr did something bad - two words...bob edwards. :-P
