The actress in the beginning is Harmony, actually, which just sort of reenforces the role of this episode as a darker Buffy. Kind of amusing, given how dark Buffy got, but I still don't think Joss would have ever gone to quite this place.
Sam must have used demonic strength. We've seen him access his powers when Dean is in mortal danger before. Of course this season they've been saying "Sam lost his powers" so far, so we'll see if Dean calls him on this.
There's just something about Gordon feeding on Dean, though. God.
I didn't notice the color thing, but I hope they have some plan for the new and improved colt. It's too damn easy if they just have the ultimate weapon with no limitations.
