I stopped by Best Buy after work to get new headphones for my MP3 player. My old headphones had stopped working. As I was standing by the door, getting the new headphones out of the package, a Best Buy employee picked a fight with the guy that checks your receipt as you leave the store. Like--punches and wrestling and things. Other employees had to break it up as these two blocked the exit and an increasingly large crowd of customers trying to leave the store formed.

Can you say soooo fired?

To top it off, turns out it's not the headphones. It's the MP3 player. So I have to get a new iPod, which I can't afford. And what I have now is a Dell DJ, which they don't make anymore, so getting an iPod means getting iTunes and reconstructing my entire music library and all my playlists. Wonderful.

They're actually more money per gig than an iPod (which is now $250 for 80). Color me surprised. I'm already eyeing the new 160G. I've got 59 gigs of music on my computer already; 42 gigs are properly tagged and organized. And I have a couple of cases of CDs I haven't even ripped yet. Ah, well. Christmas is coming up, right?
