Aug. 13th, 2013 04:46 pm- I have been watching the Daily Show and the Colbert Report on my iPad (yes, the content is more limited, but I can watch it recumbent and there are far fewer ads). The ads they show are hilarious. There's the one for Futurama's return...June 19. And the one for Stand-up Comedy Month...in April. Plus the one for the app I am actually using to watch the ad right now. Is nobody paying attention to this?
- I caught part of a Bridezillas marathon over the weekend. Here is the thing--some of the women are narcissistic sociopaths. But most of them are just slightly immature with bad time management, communication, and stress handling skills. Like, it's kind of uncomfortable to watch, cause I believe the people around them when they say, she's not usually like this. They're also--all--poor. Which is why they're doing a show that will humiliate them nationally for a few thousand bucks and maybe a discount with vendors. So a lot of the "drama" is that they can't afford to have a professional do things like catering and floral arrangements but have no skills to do it themselves yet are still trying to achieve what society has told them their wedding is supposed to be.
It's only fun to watch when the brides are complete psychos. I think I have to stop watching, cause the last few eps have just made me squirm in sympathy.
