me: just internet
them: Okay, but how about x package at a promotional rate?
me: is it just internet
them: no, internet and cable
me: i only want internet
them: how about y package?
me: is it only internet?
them: and cable
me: I WON'T HAVE A TV. I AM NOT BUYING CABLE.

I have been limping my way through Life on Mars for a while now. I put it at the top of my DVD queue, but then I keep adding stuff ahead of it, so occasionally I'll get a disc and be like...oh. Guess I have to watch it.

I know everybody loves this show and thinks it's great TV, but here's my thing: I have an embarrassment squick. And in every single episode Sam says or does something out of step with his environment and everyone looks at him like he's crazy. I'm in the second season! And he still has not learned not to yell at televisions that are turned off, or scream into disconnected phones, or go all gooey over people who will turn into people he knows. It's EXCRUCIATING. At this point I guess I'll finish the series out of stubbornness, but I genuinely have to be doing something entirely else while it's on. I can't stand. How has he not learned to not act crazycakes all the time?

Also, I just started the pilot of Sliders. Classic nineties sci fi, I know. But I don't think I can keep going. I have a thing against characters that are COMPLETE FUCKING MORONS. If the entire premise of your show is that your main characters were wildly irresponsible idiots...I'm sorry, I'm not invested in their well-being.
