Now that Merlin has ended and I've thoroughly spoiled myself for pretty much everything that's happened since I stopped watching (at the end of season two), I've started watching again.

I'd forgotten that this show pretty much has two plots: a) mytharc stuff related to Arthurian legend and b) someone gets possessed/enchanted and hilarity ensues. Seriously--how many times can you use the plot Arthur/Uther is enchanted to marry someone who is not what they seem? And yet...

I stopped watching because I didn't like the direction the overall show was going, but man, these filler episodes are hard to take.

Title: The Death of King Arthur
Author: Thomas Malory, retold by Peter Ackroyd

Synopsis: The classic fifteenth century work, translated and abridged.

Review: Is it possible to spoil for Arthurian legend at this point? Well, SPOILERS--EVERYBODY DIES AT THE END )

What is interesting about it is seeing where various other works of art were taken from--oh, this is the section that was turned into Sword in the Stone, this is Tristan and Isolde, this is Holy Grail, this is Camelot.

But as a reading experience, it's rather excruciating.
