In this interesting study, they looked at novels from across Christie's career, and noted that her later books should a 30% decrease in vocabulary and an increase in the use of indefinite nouns (like "thing"), which is an indication that the author suffered from Alzheimers. They hope to be able to use this technique to diagnose Alzheimers earlier than previously possible, and with the emails and blog entries we all make now, they'd have enough written material for almost everyone.
