Agatha Christie's novels are used to find evidence of Alzheimers.

In this interesting study, they looked at novels from across Christie's career, and noted that her later books should a 30% decrease in vocabulary and an increase in the use of indefinite nouns (like "thing"), which is an indication that the author suffered from Alzheimers. They hope to be able to use this technique to diagnose Alzheimers earlier than previously possible, and with the emails and blog entries we all make now, they'd have enough written material for almost everyone.

Please let this not be an April Fool's joke. Not that I won't be sad to see his pretty face any more, but from all the interviews and commentaries I've heard from him, he needs to do this to stay sane.
