Stupid SUVs
Aug. 23rd, 2005 12:04 amI'm continually amazed by the SUV ad that uses "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas. The lyrics in the ad are:
Don't hang on. Nothing lasts forever but the Earth and sky.
Dust in the wind. All they are is dust in the wind.
The lyric they omitted between those two lines is:
It slips away and all your money won't another minute buy.
So, you know, this song is about the futility of materialism. Kind of ironic to use it to try and coerce people into conspicuous consumption, don't ya think?
