This was a totally random thought that occurred to me on the train tonight. Why is it that everyone who's kidnapped on TV has perfect vision? Think about it. They're tied up, gagged - blindfolded or not, they never seem to have a problem with their eyes. There is the exception of the bumbling glasses guy who will always feel around for his glasses just as they are stepped on, then die a horrible death (a la The Mummy). But for the most part, vision is never dealt with.
What about contacts? Wouldn't that be a HUGE problem? I mean, a lot of people wear contacts, so what if a kidnapper tied one of them up? Then the contacts would dry out and get sucked onto their eyeballs. Could be an interesting thing to explore...or not.
Personally, I live in mortal fear of being caught away from my saline solution. This was honestly what I was most worried about during the NY black out - being forced to take my contacts out and being blind without them.
All heroes must be born with 20/20. Or get Lasik.
