The last SPN episode did such a good job of fulfilling the mytharc (I still can't get over shows that pay attention to little details like continuity), I am suddenly possessed with the urge to rewatch the series from the beginning.

Great, LJ ate that post (I think?). But basically, I was "Hell yeah!"-ing your comment. I'm so spoiled by modern TV serialization that I can't watch old stuff because it seems so episodic. (There are exceptions, but not many.) What really got me on board with Supernatural is exactly that--extremely attentive myth building. You know, in addition to those episodes with Teddy Bears blowing their brains out...
