(no subject)

Who ordered the monsoon?

Cause right now I'm completely wet, my purse is soaked through and my cell phone is doing disconcerting things.

Knew I should've stayed in bed.

Agreed. This morning renewed my hatred for disproportinately large umbrellas held by people other than me.

Teeny tiny short women standing under huge umbrellas that poke me at eye level while everyone fights to get down subway stairs? THEM.

When I got out of the subway, there was a waterfall pouring down the stairs. I shit you not. I had to stand there a second agape before I forced myself to go out into it.

My subway stop had a festering brackish puddle - soup made of rainwater and god-knows-what - at the base of the stairs, too big to leap. Ugh.

I got one better for the THEM files:

People who brush their wet umbrellas against you in the elevator after you've successfully stayed dry all the way to work: THEM.

I think I was rather fortunate this morning--when I left for work at 7:15, it was raining fairly lightly. I made it to work relatively dry.

(Then I looked out the window a little before 9 and saw the deluge coming down, and was kinda thankful I have to come in at the crack of dawn.)

Yeah, I was thankful that I only have to walk one block to get to class...

[ducks rotten tomatoes...]

I was glad to work a later shift today--I saw the torrential downpour beating against my window and went back to sleep :P I didn't get to bed until 4:30 anyway, so I didn't need much encouragement to take my time getting ready for work.
