More RPattz from the Twilight commentary.

The director is talking about how Robert actually played the piano, and how talented he is at that.
RP: I don't understand people who throw balls.

In the kissing scene:
"This is quite difficult because I have a really flat head, so it's quite difficult to get a correct angle. ... Sometimes I feel like my head's being turned inside out, like the episode of Ren and Stimpy when he's inside his own belly button. ... I don't normally shave, because I have one of those butt chins as well. It's weird. Like a nubbin."
Through all of this, the director and Kristen are like "uh..."

RP: Don't put that on the DVD. I'll sue.

RP: Oh, I'm reeeeally scary in the baseball uniform and the bouffant hair and the sculpted eyebrows.
CH: (very whiny) Roooob! Stop it!

RP: I don't understand. Why doesn't he just kill her then?
KS: Cause Edward's in the car.
RP: But he wants to kill me, too.
More bad attempts to explain away the plot hole by KS and CH, which RP legitimately shoots down.
CH: It's not for you to understand!
RP: Just say the lines, puppet!

RP: I look twelve. I thought I'd gotten past that.

RP: I look like an anime character!

OH MY GOD I LOVE HIM SO SO SO MUCH

[identity profile] ivy03.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
HE IS FANTASTIC. I LOOK FORWARD TO WATCHING HIM SLOWLY GO NUTS WHILE FILMING THE NEXT TWO MOVIES.

I now like RP 200% more than I did before I read your posts.

Knowing this film hurt one of the stars as much to make as it did for me to watch makes it much more enjoyable for realz.

[identity profile] jethrien.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 11:48 am (UTC)(link)
...sounds like it hurt him a lot more than it hurt us. Seriously, I feel kinda bad, like I'm exploiting someone's innocence and sanity.

Doesn't mean that I won't end up watching the next one, though.

AHAHAHA - I love him. I came in this morning and was telling one of my colleagues about the viewing of Twilight, and she was like, yeah! Some of my friends worked on the movie in Portland - wasn't it awful?! :-P

[identity profile] trinityvixen.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 02:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude, he is so fired if he keeps this up. (I gather that's the idea from his perspective.) I mean, the tweenage girls want his body or whatever, but the studio can't really keep this up forever, right? Because he's making a mockery of the product that they need to sell as TOTALLY SERIOUS for the fans to be happy...

AHAHAHAHA - so my friend here at work suggested the 30 second bunny version of Twilight - scroll down, click and enjoy :-P

I feel fairly sure he is. As for not bathing...you've seen him in interviews when he dresses himself, yeah? Doesn't look like he's big on hygiene. Of course, we know understand why he goes scruffy--he thinks his chin looks like a butt.

[identity profile] ivy03.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
They can't fire him, though. Fans of the movie think he is Edward. There would be riots if they had to recast.

And there lies the problem. Doesn't look too good for his career after Twilight, though.

I can feel his pain, though. You do this stupid crap low budget vampire film for the paycheck and suddenly it's your defining role. Mark Hammill and Wil Wheaton must have felt much the same. There should be a support group: I was an accidental whiny teen star.

There's a fine line, however, between being worth keeping and not. So long as the nitwit fans can focus only on how much they want this guy's room-temperature body, it's worth keeping him. However, if he's going to keep spouting off about how ridiculous a) the source material/author is, b) how stupid the movies are, and c) how inane his character is, there's going to be a reckoning. I don't doubt that the studio will put up with a lot to get the same people back (it's almost always worth it), but yeesh. He's trying desperately to get away from this, and he might just win.

Ah ha ha hee!

I just watched that on Saturday night. And erm... wow. It makes it all so much better to see that he has a sense of humor about it - can't feel too sorry for him though.

[identity profile] alizarin-nyc.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
That is brilliant!

[identity profile] ivy03.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure that's a sense of humor. Smells a lot more like despair.

[identity profile] alizarin-nyc.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I get the sense that he's looking to be moar than just a purty face... I'm sure he'll be fine. But some of the LINES he had to DELIVER. Just... I dunno.

[identity profile] ivy03.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
He's definitely going for "more than a pretty face." I watched an interview with him where the interviewer asked him to recommend a book, a movie, and a cd. All three were obscure and pretentious. The book is no longer in print, the movie's only available on region 2 dvd, and the album is by his friend. The interviewer was like "those sound...great. Yeah."

He so wants to be a hipster. Silly bunny. You have to be in ironic indie films to be a hipster.

[identity profile] alizarin-nyc.livejournal.com 2009-03-31 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
That's very endearing, actually. He should move to Williamsburg! And with the money he's going to be making, he can do whatever random indie films he wants once he's done. (Or you know, not).

[identity profile] ivy03.livejournal.com 2009-03-31 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, according to these NSFW photos (http://perezhilton.com/2009-03-31-robert-pattinson-semi-naked), he's already started on the indie film career. Or, you know, he's just continuing to try to get fired from Twilight.

[identity profile] alizarin-nyc.livejournal.com 2009-03-31 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Hilarious and awesome. You are my goddess of all things nominally RPattz.
